Frequently Asked Questions
How does this site work?
This site provides throwers around the nation their knowledge about the throwing facilities around their area.
Do I have to have a lot of information about the track in order to share my opinion about the ring?
No. As long as you have some information about a ring/ runway, you should feel free to share your knowledge on this site.
Just click on the Add A Ring link in the navigation bar, or on the Add Your Opinion link, on any existing ring page to send us your
opinions.
What type terminology is used to describe the rings, and what do they mean?
Fast Ring: A ring texture where the friction between the thrower's shoe and ring seems to be reduced, and rotation through the
ring tends to be easier.
Medium Ring: The texture of a medium ring provides enough friction that throwers have little trouble gripping the ring's surface,
yet, the ability to rotate with ease remains uninhibited.
Slow Ring: A ring texture where the friction between the thrower's shoe and ring seems to be greater than the average ring.
Also, rotation on the ring tends to be more difficult.

How can I learn about wind direction at a throwing facility if it is not listed on this site.
A visitor to this site gave us this helpful link. On the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration site, data is
provided on prevailing winds in all major US cities, by month.
